We stayed here for three nights in Feb, the start of our first visit to New Zealand. It was perfect for us, a nice small motel with a pool and hot tub. The units all have kitchens and our unit was certainly well equipped and roomy. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful, and even offered free wireless internet access while we were there. Christchurch is a lovely city, and the motel is in a great location. It's on a main road for bus access (5-10 minutes to downtown) yet has great shops within 2 minutes walk.

Spacious, well lit room, good facilities including free wireless internet and free off-street parking, staff friendly and helpful, beds huge and v comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

I don’t normally send these messages out – but Brent and I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your Motel. We were impressed with the friendly service and in particular our studio unit! Clean, comfortable, spacious and airy as well as a good price. It is a pity we had only planned 1 night in CHC, we will certainly recommend to others. Edith

Bus at the door to and from airport $7 each way fabulous,hosts give them a 10 will certainly reccomend,and room quiet and comfortable Shaza (New Zealand)

I took my elderly parents to Christchurch for a holiday and decided to book here after seeing the advertisement on the net. The owners were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. We were made so welcome. We had booked for 10 days and did not want to leave! The motel was situated on the Papanui Road,( a main road) but the motel was quiet. There was outdoor seating, a pool, and a spa pool. Beds and seating were comfortable and there was good heating in the motel. Buses left from outside the motel. We were handy to the Merivale Mall and Restaurants. Our visit was so enjoyable - we will be returning and intend to book into this motel again. It is by far the nicest motel we have stayed in at Christchurch and would not consider staying anywhere else!

Nov 2009:
We stayed for just 3 days and still felt like it was a shame to leave such a great spot. Most guest book entries reflect our observations especially about the friendly helpful staff. The rooms are very clean, quiet and warm. Highly recommended, we have stayed in several Christchurch Motels, this is the best. Keep up the good work. Cheers ,Forresters.

Just a short e-mail to say thank you for all your care and attention when we stayed with you on our recent holiday to New Zealand. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in N.Z. and were pleased that we started and ended it at the Diplomat. If ever we return to your lovely country we will be certain to book with you again, and will not hesitate to recommend you to any one looking to stay in Christchurch!
